The first five articles describes how we evolved from a time where aluminium was as expensive as gold, to a situation where it is much, much cheaper. This happened because a new production process was invented during the 19th century. The same evolution could happen now with some very expensive metals such as titanium, tantalum, vanadium, tungsten and neodymium. That could open new vistas for their usage in the automotive and aeronautical industries, to the detriment of aluminium.
